Not a new subject on the forums I know ... but I do think we can learn from each other by revisiting this topic.

When you read the forums, do you always log in? Or do you read as a guest and log in only to post?

Do you open on the Index page first, and go from there?

Do you have a favourite forum like KNP for eg that you visit first?

Image

Or do you go to the "View new posts"?

Image

When opening a forum, do you go to the little page icon to take you to the first post after you last read?

I always login (set in my browser to automatically login) then I almost always click on "view new posts" and scroll through.

When I've been through the list of topics I start again as various new topics would have come up by the time i've got to the end...

3 View new posts
4 Go to which ever postings I want to reed with first unread post
5 When I start reading TR's I stay in that forum till I've read all I have time for or till I'm done with the ones I read........same with the quizzies..........stay in that forum till done......and then back to View new posts

Always view new posts
First step is the moderator area

And then start browsing

My computer is also set for automatic log in and then its first to Chit chat to wish everyone a very Good Morning, and any birthday wishes, then I just make my way through the forum reading any posts or threads that I am currently posting in or catch my interest and usually end up finally in Travel Tales where I spend a lot of time. :D

I do not always log in when browsing, although the last few weeks I did log in upfront as it got a hassle when I wanted to reply on a post and then had to log in. By the time I am logged in then I somehow forgot what I wanted to post...

I then go straight to "View active topics"

I log in (my AV won't let me log in automatically), go to the Index and look at which forums have new posts and work my way through them.

I am set to login automatically and go to the index page.

I then check out for new topics and go to those that I want to read.

I have "view new posts" bookmarked and go there directly, and I keep myself logged in.

I used to have auto login set - but once the forums (fora?) started getting clique-ish I switched that off :(

Now days I log on as a guest, browse the index and look for new posts that interest me (I don't bother with chit-chat these days)

Now that things seem to be improving I might just start logging on again - er - maybe - see how it goes :?

An interesting thread might be 'which type of threads do you respond to?' - like this one

Same as Brummie. I read as a Guest for a long time only posting if something interested me or I could contribute and then Hidden. I have changed that however the past few days and am considering not staying Hidden anymore. I'm slowly starting to participate more again as well. :D

Super idea Brummie ... please feel free to start one

GP - good to have you around more and more ... there is a special thread with your name on it in the Kruger forum. Something about Springbok in KNP

I also have it set to go to new posts first. Now that the button to view unread posts has been pointed out, I use that as well.
I am happy to get some instruction along the way because its easier than going to tutorial pages!
