Shingwedzi - BD2 Unit 68

Now we had booked a BD2 unit - and were allocated to unit nr 68. This unit, however, does have facilities for the mobility challenged... I don't know if they maybe gave us a different one (?BD2Z), or if the facilities were maybe not up to scratch to be entirely wheelchair friendly. Anyway - nice unit, and recently renovated!

The shower looked very handy for a wheelchair...

...but the space around the toilet looked a bit limited - I think... :hmz:

Good morning Bushbuddies

Thanks for posting your shingwetzi pictures. Unit 68 is indeed a wheelchair friendly unit. It looks beautiful and spacious.

I added your picture to the first page.

Hi Marijke-I think I've worked out how to post my pics  The top photo is of one of the cottages and as you can see they are spaced far apart. The other two show the main braai area with large kitchen and dining room. All the cottages are the same except the one closest to the braai area which is a bit bigger -we were in no 3.we are going again in August and will update these pics.

Letaba - BD3U unit nr C30

These are lovely perimeter units in Letaba. Unit nr 30 is the last or furthest unit North against the Letaba river. We had beautiful views. It is, however, right next to the staff accomodation. They do sing at night - which can add to the African experience, but some might prefer the sound of the bush and not human singing.

Satara - BD2V unit 168

If we go to Satara again (I should rather say WHEN we go to Satara again), we'll definitely either get one of these units or one of the units in the B-circle. We have never stayed in the B-circle, but it looks quite nice from the outside.

The BD2V units are perimeter units and have a lovely view of the bush. You can sit on your verandah and watch the impala, zebra and blue wildebeest pass to go the waterhole. Birdlife is in abundance. The units are arranged in semicircles and unit 168 is at the end of one of these circles - right next to the fence!

And that concludes all the accomodation pics I had/took during our recent trip. Will be sure to post some again after future trips. I think this is a great thread! Will definitely pop in here when planning a next visit. Hope my pics will also help some of the other forumites!

Thanks bushbuddies.

Your pictures will certainly be helpful. Especially the view from your bungalows. The perimeter bungalow at Satara looks great, I can Imagen sitting on the veranda and watching those zebras...

Also great to see they have made a plan with regards the fridge, all enclosed in a study cage.

Yes - the whole kitchenette area (and bathroom?) has had a nice make-over since the last time I stayed in those perimeter units (I think in 167).

Satara wasn't on our itinerary for our next trip, but now I wonder... maybe it's time to go check out the upgraded units at Satara :hmz:
