Hey Everyone,

We travelled this road, vegetation is very different compared to the rest of Crocodile Bridge area, it's not busy at all, we never saw one car! I've heard that there is a natural pan on this road where 4-5 White Rhino come drink every late afternoon.

How has sightings been for you on this road?

i have seen leopard twice on this road and rhino often, there is an area where i go around a corner with a pan of water if it has rained that we often get up to 5 rhinos

Not mad about this road, to be honest. The gravel itself is one of the worst in the park for a normal sedan car and the bush is generally quite thick. Although I did once see an impala carcass that had been freshly killed by 2 cheetah, but could barely make out the cats themselves, I generally try to avoid this road. The "rhino pan" is a good spot as it is very close to the road, but I haven't had the good fortune to see any rhinos here.

I've seen rhino and lion at the pan on two seperate occasions. Overall besides a python, nothing really spectacular the last time I drive it, but early summer mornings I've found it to be quite productive.

Its a great road and if i ever make it to the South it is the one road I try and do at least once. Black and White Rhino a great bird hide, huge herds of Buff, Cheetah, wild Dog, Lion, great Sunrise photo opportunities and a good Cuckoo Road in summer and not crowded like S100...To me one of the top 5 roads in Kruger. What more could one ask for

My personal experience makes me classify the S130 as a good road (not exceptionally good). Although I have seen 2 lionesses stalking some warthog (without success while we were watching) and 1 white rhino enjoying its siesta in the muddy pan, my actual motivation for classifying it as a "good" road is the number of smaller game I have seen here. I reckon it to be above average for vervet monkeys, dwarf mongoose, tree squirrels and duiker. It hosts a "far above average" number of steenbok and warthog. But probably most people are not intested in the mentioned type of game. Fortunately for me and the wife it is just as pleasing (if not more) to watch the natural behaviour of tree squirrels (as example) than looking at some big game just staring at you or just lying in the shade of a tree (like most lions do during daytime). I'll recommend the S130 for those who take pleasure in enjoying the smaller things in nature.

I have never found it to be productive, except we saw a red chested Korhaan there and it came alive a bit on a night ride with white rhino, and our first side striped jackal.

I enjoy this road as well. For a start the road is narrow and you really feel you are in the Bundu. I have spotted leopard, white rhino, elephant, a large herd of buffalo (approx 300), hyaena as well as the usual buck and zebra. Definitely a road to explore in the summer months. Winter sightings have been sparse for me. regards

Hi adw and welcome! The difference in your seasonal sightings on this road is very interesting. I drove it in early May and saw very little, but I agree with you that the narrowness of the road gives it a very special bush feeling, so I remember it with pleasure even tho the sightings along it were not memorable

I saw on the Facebook-page that there is a huge lion pride (20+) on this road. Anyone seen them recently?

We drove this road a few times just recently and unfortunately didn't find any Lions never mind such a large pride Leelee!
but I still enjoy it as it has all the general game and the feeling that something great could appear at any minute.

The girl we drove with knows the area well and she maintains that she regularly sees one of the biggest male Leopards she has ever seen there.

We have also driven this road a number of times over the last 10 months without success, but it does seem as if something could pop up at any minute

I managed to see the pride of 22 in march 2011 as well as spent nearly everyday with them over the easter weekend 2011.

i was also lucky enough to find a cheetah on that road as well in april 2011.
