If I had to choose for my favourite or ‘personal most wanted” forum topic or thread I would choose Travel Tales under the board index. When my time is limited I always prioritise that topic. I read and follow all the travel tales because the authors put such a lot of time and effort in them and it is evident. I may not respond to all of the travel tales but I do appreciate the good quality reading material on offer! For me it is not to be missed. It would be interesting to know what the preferred topic of other forum members are.

Number one would be PM's Check them first I go from my e-mail to the topics I have subscribed to first! Which included topics from Kruger national Park, KNP camps and roads, certain travel tales etc.
But my number one is also travel tales reading the story can make you imagine you are there in the park with them. A moment of escape into your favorite place. The other reason I read them, and KNP camps and roads is because I am very interested to know where people see what! Cool topic

I also love the travel tales. As Grantmissy said, people put so much time and effort in, not to forget all the beautiful pictures. All are written so interestingly, you can clearly see that they relive their experiences, which is very nice.

I too love the travel tales, not only do I appreciate the time and effort, but just for a short while I can pretend I am back in my "happy place" Thank you to all who share so generously

I love Travel Tales, but I only go there when I've got time to "waste".... Mostly for everyday early morning reading I check out what's happening in the KNP and Arid Parks forums.

I love travel tales.
I have followed them for many years and also been a frequent contributer. I know that writing my trip report has more than doubled the original enjoyment.
I also love the way some people have grown in skills over the years. The mites who have contributed regularly have grown in so many ways.

Travel tales is number one (although I don't have the time to comment on all) But what is interesting is when a member decides to quit, announces it here and the debates that follow. I sometimes get the feeling that this forum is the alpha and omega of some forumites' lives. They will engage in endless debates about how they should be treated, what others should say and what not. Some even demand an apology whilst they remain faceless with only a username known to the rest of the world. In Afrikaans there is a term for some of these people "Klein mannetjie sindroom"
If you don't like something, just move on for heavens sake. Why irritate us with threats of leaving the forum. The forum don't need you, you need the forum.

Travel tales certainly tells it like it is.
About 8 years ago I offered to write a piece for the web site, about a Kruger trip we had, with a couple of interesting incidents . Admin agreed, and put it up on the web site. I then wrote another for Kgalagadi which was duly posted.
Than along came the forum and Admin suggested TT, and moving my articles, and a few others by now, to it.
The rest, as they say, is history.......

I enjoy the birding threads as I can, and have, learn(t) a great deal from them, but also really enjoy the Travel Tales. My only regret is that I do not comment often enough when someone goes to the trouble of posting all their experiences, so for that, I apologise to ALL who have written one recently as I know how much effort goes into them.
I also enjoy reading some of the banter type threads when one is going full strength and would sometimes like to join in, but by the time I've thought of something funny to say, the thread has moved on apace and my comment would be out of context or, worse still, my warped sense of humour could be perceived as offensive to some, so refrain from posting But I do laugh along with all the comments nevertheless.
