Hi all,

Help time again.....

I have used the email addresses in the camp contact section to try and request my specific bungalows from each camp however they have all come back with an error message. Not sure if it's because they are old addresses or what? So doesa anyone have contacts for the following camps, please.

LS, Satara, Mopani, Letaba, Tambotie(Orpen) and Skuks.

Good morning fellow Forumites.
I've been an avid reader, now writing my first post.

This is such a helpful section/topic, but need some recent advice. Will be staying in Satara in a BD2V for the 1st time next year (yes only next year ,but I've already got the fever...) Where would the best place be to stay? Near the restaurant with a view of the waterhole or further down along the fence?

It will also be our first Balue stay... CAN NOT WAIT! Any tips?

Lower Sabie BD2U is unit no 73-84, I called the camp as we are going there as well and have booked the same kind of unit.

Yep! Keep your eyes open there, wild dogs have been spotted around Balule lately.

Welcome and congratulations on your first post.
For the BD2V at Satara number 173 is the closest to the fence and best in my opinion as when braiing you will be 1-2 metres from the fence. We stayed last year and while braiing had a couple of hyenas beside us for a smell,(no dinner from us ) and one that just lay down to sleep at the fence. Also 2 honey badgers outside the fence although the resident ones also tour the camp. The numbers a couple either side are also great so when requesting give 173 as ideal but choice a couple either side. As 173 is a bit forther forward you can't directly see your neighbours when sitting on the stoep.
We have requested it for later this month but have yet to hear if we are successful.

BTW: which camp is best to check-in at for Balule, Satara will be 'en route', read conflicting posts on this? Also when requesting a specific hut, should I contact Satara or Olifants

I have tried to email the contact for Satara rest camp specified on the link which is at the start of this topic, however I get a delivery failure which seems to suggest that gladstone has left.

I am trying to reserve a particular bungalow, does anyone know the email address of the camp contact I can request this to please?

Just planning my yearly end of year visit to the park! Was hoping for accomodation recommendations for the following camps:

-Pretoriuskop
-Satara
-Mopani
-Lower Sabie
-Berg-En-Dal

Feel free to name great actual units too!

In Lower Sabie, the BD3U and BD2U bungalows are very nice. Upgraded and with a very nice river view.

I don't know if any of the accommodation in Satara has been upgraded yet - haven't been there in 2 years, so they should all be in more or less the same condition. The BG2 bungalows in Satara are a bit cramped in my opinion. It's better to try for the BD2 units.

Can't help you with the other camps unfortunately.

In Satara the perimetre bungalows only.

BND no 25. There is a resident leopard on the other side of the fence.

Lower Sabie the tents overlooking the river.

Just stuck between choosing a BD3E,BD3B or a BD2N unit...any ideas? It is only two of us...

2 beds are fine but the third gives you a bit more space to spread out a bit.

If I'm staying in a camp for more than 2 days I find I like the extra space that the third bed gives. for one or 2 nights it doesn't really matter.
