We came across the most amazing sighting over the causeway behind Shingwedzi on our recent trip. The river was flowing over the causeway and the crocs where lined up with mouths open, catching fish as they came over the bridge. One croc was even on the bridge!! What amazed us the the croc would allow the water to run through his mouth, and then when a tiny fish touched his jaws, they would snap shut. A remarkable sighting indeed and one that goes down as one of the highlights. Birds also enjoyed the feast.

RP, it doesn't look like any Photoshopping was done and I can can believe it is a true picture.
A true monster and real pity it's not around any longer.

RP, the first and third one yes (Mara River) while the middle one was taken in KNP from the bridge near Letaba.

Do you agree the Mara Crocs hve a clearer pattern of light/dark green markings than Kruger ones?

RP, Mara croc's seem different from most African croc's, and not only in size. I've seen some that were more yellow than brown and some that were close to black.
This summer I'll be back in that area and also around the Lake Victoria area where some of the biggest croc's are found.
