Hi All,
Just got back yesterday 21 March from KNP wat a blast had such a fantastic time.Luckily I found some one to come with me (needede the conversation).
Saw some great sightings and had a lot of fun.
Stayed 1 night at all the camps in order of Pretoriouskop, Letaba,Skukuza And finally Lower Sabie.
Not going to bore anybody so I'll just get on with what I saw :
Lion (3 times 1 great sighting walked right next to the car and my first time KNP buddy almost died).
Plenty of white rhino all over the south.
Lucky enough to get a picture in daylight of a black rhino (that was the best part of the trip for me)
Lots of ground hornbills
Lots of side striped jackals
Even got a great shot of a side striped jackal ( my first sighting ever)
European rollers ,lilac breasted rollers ,hornbills,guinea fowl and quite a few saddle billed stalks but from distance.
Believe it or not I only saw 2 buffalo far away on the olifants river bank .( disappointed with the lack of buffalo sightings).
Elephants where every where .
Zebra and wildebeest together almost every where especially around satara.
Even saw some ostrich.
Saw the usual antelope : impala ,waterbuck,kudu ,duiker ,bush buck ,klipspringer.
Had a a good sighting of about 20-30 brown headed parrots ( what fantastic colouring).
Even had some hyena round and about in the morning .
But the great thing about the park is that I added someone who knew nothing about the park to it ,and he cant wait to get back there. If I taught him one thing about the KNP its that its not only about the big five its about the small things to
