Whether you stay at the Croc Bridge camp or not is a separate issue to the fact that this IS where the game is! The S28 to Lower Sabie is wonderful! Also, the fact that the Croc Bridge Gate is a great point to enter/exit the Kruger from Komatipoort for onward travel to Jo'burg, Swaziland AND Mozambique! It has been avoided by many due to the rains in the last few years, but now there is no reason to do so! Go for it! The new bridge is 1.9 metres higher, so flooding shouldn't be an issue now....less of an adventure but a reliable transit point!

Hey :naughty: are you trying to get our little bit of paradise overrun?

I would like to see a good rain before I comment on the bridge, but there is no restaurant or pool at Croc Bridge, and I don't see why anyone would want to stay there.

Another reason to avoid CB is that there are so few roads to travel out of camp. You basically have to go north. Why not stay in a camp like Skukuza, Satara, or Lower Sabie where there are many more choices of roads and directions to take.

BB - are you at it again ?
Please cease publicising this jewell that has no restaurant (yet) and so few road choices ?

Sorry! I Know! I am completely irrepressible! But the good burgers of Komatipoort have fought for a new bridge for years and are delighted ..this IS the game rich end of the Park, the S28 and route up to Lower Sabie and Mlondozi is wonderful and extremely reliable for sightings...Living just 8 km from this gate, I go in a couple of times a month and have guests doing that route every day..it NEVER disappoints! If you want game go here...if you want a restaurant...go to one! Enjoy!!!!!!

When driving from Lower Sabie to Croc bridge last year for the first time it struck me how lush and green the agricultural land on the hills beyond the river is compared to the parched park, the herbivores must be able to see and smell all the juicy wet leaves ... maybe that's the reason why there are so many in that corner of the park, with the cats hot on their tracks? :)

I agree BB

Where are the pics? And how many elephants were upstream at the time? And where did you see any cats or other game? Some proof of all this speculation please. :cam: :rtm:

And Treestoo, what kind of business are you running in Komatiepoort in any case that you’re all of a sudden advertising our delicate little spot so much, threatening to ruin her completely by flooding her with tourists…?! :hmz:  Hou jou in asb!!

Dan - Treestoo is a Guest House in Komatiepoort. Obviously trying to attract business to the town.

Hi - does anyone know if Crocodile Bridge (the actual bridge) is still open, meaning is it overflowing or not?

I'm going to the park over the weekend, and just want to know if we will be able to exit the park at Crocodile Bridge.

Thank you!
