Your final resting place in KNP?

Unread postby African Lynx » Thu Sep 09, 2010 1:37 pm

Hi All,

I don't want this to become a morbid thread, strewn with sadness and longing for those passed on, but one of fun and imagination and celebration.

If you were to pass on and be cremated, where would you want your loved ones to scatter your ashes? My ideal place in Kruger would be Mathekenyane lookout. My family should wait for a bright sunny day with a gentle breeze blowing from the south-east and then toss my ashes high into the sky and let me float out onto the bushveld below. A wonderful place to spend eternity!!!

For those that don't want to be cremated or can't get here, just pretend.

African Lynx, Mathekenyane is one of my favourite places. 8)

Either at Nkuhlu, or somewhere on the Satara Plains (thinking along the H6), or maybe at Nwanedzi or maybe all three seeing that I will be able to be divided equally :hmz:

Death isn't morbid - it's a part of life.

Have told Moggiedog if I die while we're in the park to leave me as feed for the animals.....probably not allowed, but it's what I'd want....Just make sure I'm dead first though!

My mom's ashes are scattered in New Zealand, my dad in the Atlantic - I don't mind where mine are scattered but I'd like a bit of me buried in someone's grave in England. Can't say we don't spread outselves around!

I have already told my daughters that I want a memorial bench overlooking a waterhole or at a fence. Believe Lower Sabie has there quota of benches, so anywhere else would be fine. As long as it is in Kruger.

On to of Mount Shikumbe just opposite of Masorini.
From there I will be able to see Phalaborwa in the West, Sable Dam in the South with Masorini next to it, The Letaba in the North and, if I can see far enough on a clear day, Letaba in the East.
