Stunning shots Touareg, may I ask what your basic settings are that you use on your camera.

Wingman...most of my settings are either in AV or TV mode. I use AV when the subject is mostly staionary and for birds aim for shutter speed of at least 1/1250 and aperture of around f6.3. Iso in the range of 200 - 400 depending on the lighting. With moving subjects is over to the TV with a shutter speed in excess of 1/1250, still with around f6.3 on aperture and then the ISO is variable.

Equipement..mostly a conon 7D with a Canon 500mm plus 1.4 extender. Where possible I use a remote shutter release if shooting from my car and a Manfrotto tripod with a Wimberley II head if in the field.

I am off to Langebaan this afternoon for a weekend of birding in the WNP and to see if the house is still standing . Hopefully there will be a few obliging avians around. Last time I was there was in March before the two KTP trips. So watch this space over the next few days, I may bring home some pics to share. Yes Micetta, I am going to shoot the birds again

Here is my favorite pic of the weekend. This African Rail played hide and seek on Saturday, but Sunday came out in full view next to Abrahamskraal hide. In fact there were two of them.

Another of the local beauties are the Double Collored Sunbirds.

WOW Touareg! What can I say. You truly know what you are doing. All that practice pays of I guess! Unbelievable shots there...... love it!

Here is another species which makes WNP its home, the Little Egret. When I was there in July, these birds where there in quite large numbers.

Hippo-fan. I am also going to be in the Kruger from 19 to 21 September. Saturday 19 Sept in Skukuza, 20 Sept in Satatra and 21 Sept in Lower Sabie. Hope to see you somewhere.
