Yes, have to agree, he certainly looks as if he has been round the block a couple of times, 8)
but still an impressive sight to have striding along next to the vehicle. :D

THANKS Elsa!

Yup - that looks like him. Good to know he is still around! We've heard some stories about the old guy, but haven't spent enough time in Punda to find him. Hopefully we'll have some luck in August!

Punda Mission - confirmed [[size=50]size=85](...and of course just loving being in good'ol Kruger... )

Stunning lions photos !!!!
Thanks for everybody’s reply on my request of sightings in and around Skukuza!
We had a very good time and had some marvelous lion sightings!
One morning just me and my youngest daughter went for a 6:00 drive… 5 little piggies stayed at home….
As we were turning back to camp, we decided to take a detour via the S65.
After less than 50m in the dirt road we saw 4 lionesses and 15 cubs!!!!
Right next to the road… the best was that we were only 3 cars!!!!
As the one car left the lions decided to cross the road.
I must have been in heaven.
We just saw babies, babies and more babies!
Definitely my best sighting ever!

Later the next day we saw a homey moon couple. Two very old haggard lion.

I know the feeling of having them next to us, walking .. yes, it can be really scary, especially when those golden-yellow eyes peer into the depths of your nerves!

I had the good fortune of watching a male lion marking his territory on the S41. I tracked him for over a kilometre and managed to get some memorable photographs.
This photo shows the King in a very un-royal like pose!
Image

And this photo shows him in a very aggressive mood for me daring to take his photo.
