Zoombrowser problems

Hi Everyone

We are still in New Zealand and I decided to upgrade my laptop. I have/had a notebook and decided it was time to buy a bigger screen laptop - so I bought an Asus laptop . Very nice with a big screen etc. The problem started when I wanted to download the Canon programs that is Zoombrowser,etc ( I have a Canon 400D and a 40D) The laptop came with Windows 7 Home Premium and apparently not compatible with the Canon cd.

Has anyone had the same problem? If so what did you do to rectify this.?

The CD that came with my 500 worked fine on my Windows 7 laptop.

Can you download it from the Canon site?

I discovered when I got a new point and shoot Canon (SD1200, replacing the SD300 that was stolen — and which I much preferred) that the newer ZoomBrowser software (which would be what you got with your 500) isn't compatible with older Canon cameras :roll: :twisted: So I suspect that the version of ZoomBrowser that works with older Canon models isn't compatible with Windows 7 — yet another good reason for me to stick with XP :whistle:

Thank you Saraf and Arks for your input.
Arks I agree with you about keeping the XP. All the laptops I looked at had Windows 7!
My best option seem to be that I have to purchase Adobe or Lightroom. Which program would you suggest?
