Hi DotDan

Lovely leopard. Try cropping it on the front leg and shoulder
Make it a head and shoulder shot. This should also work

What I like about it is that its less obvious.
I mean, lions faces are a dime a dozen, yeah teh cropping could be better, but I feel your on a winner here because you have a different angle, which accentuates the size of teh forepaw.

maybe raise teh exposure by a 5th, and reduce the overall brighness. Would look good in a custom frame on a pillar.

Hope this helps a bit, noise removal, sepia conversion, and a crop. Also changed the overall brightness to try to fade out the lions behind in teh corner, and remove the road distraction. Dont worry - I would never use this myself. I have it saved as d van der bergh.

I much prefer the original, never been a fan of sepia , the overexposd areas just catch my eye

Love the original one. There is so much expression in lions' faces.
Took a photo of one a year or so ago while he was lazing next to the road. But don't know how to upload it here? Pls help? About 1,28 Mb.

A while back.... November 2006!

But I have two little points.
You should have moved the car back a little, then you would have had a clear view of the lion. And that takes the grass out of his eye.

It's also cropped a little too close. A bit more room on top and bottom would mean that his head & hair is completely in view.

Okay, 3 little points. ;) Next time see if you can wait a bit till it's looking at you, and then make the photo. That gives far more eh.. feeling to it.

Spot on DuQues, when I saw the photo my first thoughts was: "Now where is that reverse gear lever again..."

Maybe also a tad over exposed :hmz:

Although I have never commented (still learning) I have always enjoyed the pics and comments.
Please help : Did I crop this pic too much - I also have the Goliath Heron where it actually caught the fish but thought it would have more impact if I cropped it and I maybe overdid it.

Hi Fransmargate,
Yes, I think you cropped it a little too much especially on the top. Show us the original and lets see what's around it.

Very nice picture!!!

Indeed posting the original photo would help us.

At the moment the heron looks to get a bump on the head if he lifts it a bit, but we don't know how much space there was...

Fransmargate, thanks for posting the original shots.
Now, I'd leave the first shot as it is, cropping would just ruin it.
This is how I would crop the second one:
Image
Cropped in a proportional way and cut the dead branch on the right.
