I need help with a Frog ID.
I only got the ''SASOL First Field Guide to Frogs Of Southern Africa'' :redface:

and I fear this booklet isn't of any help here....
WE found his Little guy in our outdoor cupboard t Olifants Rest Camp in May.

hello,

the frog you have here is a foam nest frog. these lttle guys are commonly found around the camps in kruger. as you can see that they are whitish to light browno on the bottom and light to dark on the top. i once saved one of these guys when we were in letaba, he was sitting in the resuarant and i knew if he stayed there he would have got squished. so i moved him and put him in the bush :mrgreen:

ps. i good book to buy for frogs is frogs and froging by Vincent Carrathurs, you get a CD of frog calls and a very informative description on each southern african frog.

Thanx Batmad for your reply and the book recommendation.I certainly will have a look for it.

A Frog ID thread would be a great idea.

Saving the Frog from Letaba restaurant ?!
Good on you !! :clap:

We had a nice Froggie outside of our Bungalow at P'kop. But someone killed it by sprinkling something over it :evil:

We saw this frog/tadpole at Leeupan in Kruger in Feb which I think could be a Juv Giant Bullfrog.

My first impression was that it is a Foam nest frog. But they do not naturally occur in the Freestate.

Yes Imberbe, this is in Bloemfontein.
I was told it could be an albino Rana??
