Nothing to look at at all,

Moz has some of the most fantastic spots to dive & snorkel in the world IMHO.

I dived also from Port Shepstone but, once spearfishing at Strauss Banks I saw the biggest shark(Great White) in my life. Had to shake out the wetsuit.

TP, Nitrox, lifelines with extra gas, takes a hell of a long time to get back to surface.

Oops!  I have never seen one while diving and a Leopard shark is also on my wish-list!

I see we have some "deep diving" members here.

Been there and done that and it's as boring as bat doo doo  - have always enjoyed the shallower waters for things to see.

My deepest was 52 meters at Badgat, but I must say that I enjoy diving 40 meters at Protea Banks.

was in the south of Moz with some guys from Getaway Magazine about 14 years ago, they did a whole thing on Ultra deep diving, etc. They were kitted with a lot of fancy things. Will see, maybe I can dig up the article on the net. :hmz:

Thanks Scipio, I will love to read it!

I don't know Theuns - I think you can keep the great whites - that is a shark I would rather NOT see while IO

Scipio, I used to do a fair amount of spearfishing of the rocks at Umzumbe - always used a long tether float for my catch because of the amount of johnnies in the water - would regularly loose a couple of fish during the day

We had one at 7-mile reef in Xai-Xai that we got to know very well while spearfishing. :? He caused a huge few scares with the tourists.

Cool, I guess you spent a lot of time working at Soddies then   - no seriously, where were you based?

I stopped logging around the mid 1500's (not years for any smartasses!) - which was 4 years ago now. I do a lot of shore dives around the breakwaters so not worth counting although they are good dives so got tired of writing the same thing so stopped.

You guys have to come and do some diving here - forget the Great Barrier and go to Ningaloo - not quite as commercialised (like Sods back in the early 80's for us older types) and it's quite different being on a fringing reef. And the Manta's - something else again.
