Poor crocky Anne-Marie.
I would think he can survive with part of his tail missing, but I'm not an expert! :hmz:

This fella was seen at Sunset Dam March 2011.

How inactive are crocs in winter? Want to go kayaking on St Lucia lake system after Kruger, but not quite sure!

I have heard of a massive croc in the Crocodile river which gave some trouble and was killed. Inseide they found some human remains: arm bangles and a watch. The croc was huge.
After loading it onto a bakkie it hanged off from the back.

The ranger that shot it couldn't get to the sides of it's body with outstretched arms.

A very bad inceident took place near Skukuza where some Park staff and friends were chilling out on the bank of the Sabie river. This was quite a time ago.

One guy (Surname was Ysel, I think) got attacked by a croc and was dragged to deeper water to be drowned, and torn apart via the deathroll as crocs do. He managed to hang onto some roots next to the bank and a friend of his was fortunately reacting to the attack and manged to stab the croc in the eye with a knife.

The croc let go and swan away. If I remember correctly the victim had to hold in his intestines with his hands and was in hospital for about 6-8 months.

I think the crocs in the Limpopo are definitely tasting some human flesh.

this was in a book "a gameranger remembers"...lovely book:)

I was driving over the bridge over the N'watinwambu (H4-1 - Lower Sabie - Skukuza) when I spotted this crocodile eating a snake. I think the crocodile was about 2 meters long.
