Hi everyone!

I've always loved snakes but never been allowed to keep them as pets! Not at home (cause the parents were freaked out, not that I'm blaming them!) So even now I have to fight against the stigma where I stay currently, but that is another story!

I am trying to become proactive about snakes but need some help! Wondering if anyone knows about a course that deals with snake handling, including poisonous species? I found a course in the cape but I stay in PTA. Petrol just to much now I'm Afraid.
I have watched to many snakes die because of ignorance.... next time I want to save the snake from Ignorance. Unfortunately if I get bitten I won't be doing me or the snake any favours!
Any help regarding this will be well receive! Thanks

I am aware of only two FGASA accredited institutions in your area:

HERE

and the Hartebeespoortdam Snake park, e-mail: zoogang@mweb.org.za

Thanks Imberbe

That is a big help. Puts me on the right track. Will contact them and see what they say. You got any snakes as pets?

P.S Does your user name have a specific meaning?

With that hint I will battle to find myself!

My user name is derived from the scientific name for a Leadwood, Combretum Imberbe!

No, though I love snakes, I much prever them to be in the bush! Or in my garden!
