Has anyone else had the problem of terribly slow forums these last few weeks (since sometime in August)?

I at first thought the problem was on my side, but has since notice it is only the SANParks website, and especially the forum side of it, that is so slow, I've just timed the following actions:

Opening SANParks landing page, 15 seconds
Opening Forum Board Index, 26 seconds
(not too bad yet)

Opening the "Chill room", 56 seconds
Opening the "Forum Problems" thread, 3 minutes and 58 seconds (now it is getting ridiculous)
Opening the "Post a reply" dialogue box, 1 minute and 42 seconds.
(do I have the patience of a saint or not?)



Compare with:
Opening "Beeld" and "Takealot" landing pages, <5 seconds each
Opening article on Beeld website, 7 seconds.
(not terribly fast, but bearable)

Opening the "Health24.com" landing page, <1 second
Opening the peer forums on "Health24", <1 second

...
So the problem must be SANParks's side, in my opinion...

Dabchick , gee-whizz , I wish I could get your speeds I sometimes click on a page ( any page ) , walk away and come back 15 minutes later , never mind 15 seconds

Okie, speed is not a forum problem imo
On my companies computer the forum isnt to fast
But on my home computer, with me the only user, using google chrome i have a very fast forum

Believe its more related to your own computer and its processing speed then the forums

I think this was brought up before, but I can't find it. Please forgive me if I'm covering something already answered.

I was thinking about how many ooh's and aah's messages that are deleted to clean up the forum. Is there a feature with the forum code to add a "like" button similar to facebook or comment sections on some news sites?
