Following the successful follow up of a leopard with a snare around Lower Sabie, I have learned about a Cheetah on the H10 with a snare around its neck. Please assist where you can and share info so that this Cheetah also has a happy ending.

SeanP, where did you hear about this and have the people concerned reported it to the authorities in the park?

I truly hope that they can help this poor animal :pray:

We saw it on Sunday about 13h00 . They were four adults(guess mother and grown up youngsters.this group is unknown to me) also I can't say if it is the mother that got the snare, wil have a look at the pic's and post it tonight.
Another group/people undertake to report it at Croc Bridge with Gps coordinates(they camp there). It was also reported yesterday to a senior person at Skukuza.

Hold thumps for success.

DUP - Thank you for the information. I cannot see from the picture, but is the snare still attached?

Morning all;

I have reported the snare to my colleagues in Kruger and will soon post on the forum as soon as I get feedback.

I do hope something is done very quickly. The snaring of the leopard was a most unfortunate incident that took months to resolve!

SeanP,yes it is still around the neck (his/her), the cut is about 70 mm long and it seems that the noose ,in the wire did the cut . Then there is also still a piece of the wire left ,the end was about knee high.

Thanks Lesego,the more official's know about it the better.
