I can assure you that a lion has NO chance of flattening or "injuring" a Grader tyre. They are just to big and strong.

Lions will chow anything they find interest in. And tyres seems to fit the bill.

I also know of a very well documented case of cheetah puncturing an old couple's car's tyre on the Orpen road.

Cats are inquisitive and that is the main trade to spark something like biting onto a wheel.

Oh and finally. Maybe they have the same reaction as what dogs have to tyres. Dogs like to urinate against a tyre to make its mark. And I have seen other dogs then later finding the said tyre very interesting.

This was posted somewhere else on the forum recently and as far as I remember it was in a Lion sanctuary in JHB somewhere.
Very bored Lions, no doubt but not the people in the car by the end.

It was Krugersdorp. Received the full compliment of pic's. Landy was purchased at Daly Landrover in Potch. It is the same place that the person from chinese descent was eaten some years ago I think.

You're right, Imberbe. I started this thread after I received the same photos by e-mail a few weeks ago.
I was in a park called Krugersdorp Game Reserve several years ago; they had an enclosure with lions inside. Are we talking about the same place? I remember that, on entering the enclosure, the staff actually warned us that the lions could try to destroy the tyres. A warning I never received in any other park or game reserve.
Now there is only one question left to answer: who took the photos? My guess: the third lion, to show to off to his grandkids!

The lions need to keep bussy!
