Just goes to show what kind of people/element we are
dealing with. There is not the slightest morsel of integrity
or emotion to be found in these people, P'cafe.
Taking this one step further, now we buy/process this
highly sought after product, to end up in cultures supposed
to be highly intellectual( I refer shark finsoup, dogs cats etc.)
Does this mean that the intellect need to be re-educated, or
am I just losing it in this day and age.
It cannot be made more or less for that matter but it can be altered to suit.- The universe.

The issue is the east consider most things a commodity. Now if you see animals as a commodity that you can potentially make an easy profit on, why not. You loose all relationship, connection to or feelings towards an animal.
Humans differ from animals due to the so called ability to reason. What is the reason to hack of a horn, hunt a lion for his head or kill a shark for a tiny fin! Pathetic creatures!

Losing the battle , I do believe this poached rhino came from Kruger ...

Dated 16 Dec 2010

QUOTE
"We received information on Sunday that one of the five rhinos that arrived from South Africa was missing after a special tracking gadget fitted on the animal went inactive," Ezekiel Maige, Tanzania's Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism told Reuters in a telephone interview on Thursday.

"The rhino's carcass was found in the Serengeti National Park on Tuesday, with the horn cut off. This was clearly the work of a group of poachers."
KNP is sacred. I am opposed to the modernisation of Kruger and from the depths of my soul long for the Kruger of yesteryear! 1000+km on foot in KNP incl 56 wild trails.200+ nights in the wildernessndloti-indigenous name for serval.

Not just a story.

The daughter of a good friend of mine recently visited the KRUGER NATIONAL PARK.

While driving in the Malelane area, they noticed a man wearing a blue t shirt and a beard who ducked and tried to hide when they arrived, they thought nothing of it - maybe it was someone doing something, they drove a little further and came across a bakkie with an occupant. They stopped and asked the occupant about the other man and were casually told that he doing some work.

Louise - a lawyer later while driving on became suspicious - just maybe they saw something that may have resembled a firearm.

The family drove to Malelane where they made a report, the field staff went out and lo and behold they came across the bakkie and its occupants who also were in possession of unsealed firearms.

The occupants were taken into custody.

Louise and her family were requested to attend an identification parade today - they got a well deserved three days accommodation sponsored by SANPARKS in the KNP for their troubles and will be returning home on Monday..

Well done Louise and very well done KRUGER field staff.

Another rhino killed in N.West
Imraan Karolia | 3 Hours Ago

Yet another rhino has been killed at the Shingalana Lion and Game Reserve in the North West.

More than 300 rhino have been killed since January.

This is reportedly the fourth attack on a rhino at the game reserve this year.

North West Police spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone said it was unclear when the animal was poached but believed it was dehorned earlier this week.

“The incident took place between the 22 and the 23 December at the particular place. There was only one rhino that was shot and its horn chopped off,” he said.

Much more action is required by our beloved Government to stop this, fancy speeches made from soap boxes or get togethers are not going to solve the problem.

A few years ago we had a specific SAP unit looking after our Wildlife and did an excellent job.

All the specialized SAP units were disbanded a few years ago, including the child protection unit. It was done in the name of creating a more effective police force and having these functions at all the local police stations. This was obviously a major mistake! :wall:

This decision has been reversed, but the damage has been done.

I hope that the specialized wildlife protection unit will be brought back asap!

  Hope so too. The wildlife protection unit wouldn't be much good in local police stations. :?
