By the time I see forum members yellow ribbons while driving its normally to late to say hi because we have already passed each other so an idea I have is what about selling those yellow wrist bands to forum members with say "SANParks Forum Member" written on it and that way when you are relaxed and in the camp you will be able to meet fellow forum members, also the wrist band could be sold for say 10 times its production cost and the profit proceeds could go to anti-poaching and that would make the wearer especially proud to wear it, something like the red rhino horn for vehicles. If it takes off then extra colors could be added to identify the members "rank" as a forum member, say yellow for a regular, green for a Virtual Ranger, red for a Moderator etc etc.

Dear Shutterbug

Thank you for a very good suggestion!

We (as in the forum members led by a committee who are working with the VHRs and SANParks) are in the process of determining a logo specifically for the online community and the idea is to then sell branded merchandise to raise funds for anti poaching etc.

Good idea Shutterbug... Once (and if) it gets of the ground one can even think of doing an insect repelant forum wristband :)

As DB said we are still awaiting the logo thingy but not a bad idea once it is done.

That is a great idea, Shutterbug!

There are, however, many of these wrist bands - of all colours. A Forum yellow wrist band would have to have some distinguishing feature - new Forum logo?

I think this would be a great idea - Forumites could identify each other in camps, at camp shops, etc. - and not only when travelling in their vehicles - often difficult to stop and chat.
