Ladies do it with style

Unread postby Meandering Mouse » Fri Jan 03, 2014 6:27 am

What is it about guys?

If there is a game, they want to win it.. at all costs.. If there is a rule, they want to break it... regardless...

Dress, is seldom their prime concern....

I rest my case

Image

Ladies, as a rule know, in any situation.... impact matters...

We are often better at loosing... but we need to look good while we do so...

We have style

Image

I was not democratically elected as your captain...I was appointed... because I love cricket.

This going to be our thread where we can talk about the match, get to know each other... and learn to watch that blasted ball...

MM.

I like your approach to the game  . But if ladies do dress that way, I dont think we have any chance of concentrating on the winning aspect.

Kallis, ladies will concentrate on the winning aspect... but will the men

I would like to say at this point that Black Rhino posted a very important post regarding preparation for the cricket.

We need to focus on essentials.

I would like to invite you all to the Cradle on the 9th Feb.

I will provide a potjie, I ask the ladies team to provide everything else.

I have lots of space,

excellent ball catchers

and a time to evaluate our skills.

I am in the Cradle area, close to Maggie's farm. I will send details to everyone as soon as we know who is willing to jump on board.

I see that our first match is on Friday, I am wondering how many ladies will be there that day. :hmz:

Hi Wendy,
I also saw the post. We only leave Pretoria on the Friday and one of the players will only be there early Saturday morning. Normally the Angels play early on the Saturday which is now a problem for some of us if the matches started on the Friday. This shouild have been communicated before we started with all our arrangements and leave plans.

Hi VVV

Planning an event such as the cricket is not an easy task. First we need to set a date (and that depends on the availability of the cricket field) as early as possible so folk wishing to attend the event can start planning their visit to the park around a designated weekend.

This date then gets communicated to the forums and all interested parties. Time needs to be given for folk to decided if they can make the trip, and also for other teams who wish to join to find funding/sponsorship.

Then there is a call for a firm rsvp.

Once that is done, and the final numbers are in, only then can the planners sit and see how many players/teams and folk will be at the event and begin to plan around that to ensure everyone who would like to play gets a fair chance out on the pitch.

This year, for example, the attendance from the forums is so good we can field two mens teams. We need to ensure both teams do play. It is impossible to accommodate all these matches in one day. And there was no way of knowing this when the dates were first set.

Last year the precedent was set to have two days of matches.

What we are going to do is try to ensure everyone is accommodated, so if it is impossible to make it to Kruger in time for the matches on the Friday, please contact either MM, or Baffers for the men, so that we can finalise the programme with SANParks asap and publish it here.

VVV, lets see what happens at this point. There are quite a few who cannot make it for the Friday's match. Watch this space. I am looking forward to meeting you all again.

Would it be pssible to come through on Sunday for a practice. If not, we can meet on Saturday morning. I would love us to be able to play as a team. I also appreciate that you managed to get a ace player to join.

Hi All

I am soo sorry for my blondness but i only saw this now as i have been so extremely with work and all.

If I had known earlier I would have definitely made a plan to be at the practice session! I must say Pardus has been great at helping trying to hit the ball but have to admit his bat is extremely heavy. Maybe we could get a less heavy bat for us?  Otherwise I will see if I can borrow my little 2 year old nephew's baby bat! I am sure that one will do the trick!

Maybe we could try to reschedule a little practice session?

Anyhoe otherwise the guys living close to each other can practice on their own until the big event..

Not too long to go now and cannot wait to meet you all again!

BB
