Cricket@Kgalagadi 2013 will be Connecting to Society!!
The much anticipated cricket matches will be played over two days in March 2013 at a rural school 10km south of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park. A new pitch is being built in the red sands specially for this event, and as a result this school will now have its own cricket field - well done to
all those involved in this amazing project!!! (Donors will be thanked at a later stage.)
Already the event (probably the biggest yet in the area) is receiving good media exposure:

Funds are also desperately needed for an extra classroom/ media centre at the Primary school. So many children wish to go to the school but the school cannot accommodate all these children. There are also so many children who never complete their schooling as they literally loose interest.
SchoolKTP would like to build a media centre / classroom to be able to accommodate more kids and where they can get access to the internet. This room will also be used to train the local communities in how to use a computer and how to use the internet. (And join the SANParks forums!)
KTP will only gain financially through accommodation sold in the park, all other financial aid or donations will go directly to the community; the Welkom School.
Computers & equipment, classroom tables, chairs etc. are needed.
If you are able to donate any of this type of equipment; please contact either
Jan Kriel or the VHRs email:-
VirtualHRs@gmail.com.
Cash donations are most welcome and needed, and may to be paid into the SANParks Honorary Rangers central bank account, or the SANParks HRs GivenGain account, from where they will be used to purchase equipment for the school; and also to build that new classroom.
Together, we can make a difference in these children's lives and ensure they grow up to appreciate their park right on their doorstep!
