We have a request for the school:

They need at least 2 more tables.

Anybody out there that can help out with that? :D

Just to be clear about the tables:

"the tables should be the small ones for the pre school so the little ones can sit and reach comfortably."

Scouter,

Great Idea, we should do a different school this year as you mentioned Welkom had it last year. Will see what I can find out about Rietfontein or Askham and then maybe include the Tsamma Land kids?

Thanks guys

Can you tell me. Is there a CD player? I will give them a full set of Storieman - this is 33 stories, on CD.

Also i will bring some kiddies books in December.

Guys, please coordinate that with GP? See the Tsammaland topic.
Then we know what is needed, what is there, and what additional things could be good.

(That school is going to be the envy of the whole North-West! )

Hi Scouter, GP and KG

Maybe this is answered somewhere else, but is there a list of requirements so that we can look at it and see if we can help.

Unfortunately I don't have any Afrikaans books.

Please count me in for a couple of kids for the pressie drive - it was such fun last year.

Thanks

Morning all, it is absolutely heart warming to see how many of the mites are interested in assisting with Tsamma land and help us to help the kids. After talks we have come up with the following wish list:

Empty 2L bottles, Empty toilet rolls ( we will be using the carton on the inside), empty egg holders (packaging which the eggs come in).
Any of the following: Kraft paper, paint, crayons, pipe cleaners aprons, glue scissors a ice cream sticks cotton wool. old news papers, paper plates. maybe a lose carpet which is not in use anymore educational posters curtains, any old toys.

If any mites could assist with the following or know somebody who cans it would be appreciated:

Small Mattresses for the kids to sleep on during the day. Nappy changing table. If someone has an old PC and printer they don’t use it will be helpful to keep records

I know it is a lot but we are getting this off the ground only with a building.

Thanks so much in advance for all the assistance.

Thanks GP.

Is it possibe to have the list updated regularly so that we know if those items have been donated yet or doesn't it matter if they get lots of the same thing.

I will be going up for a couple of days in Aug, so will try to get a couple of things.

@Elize,

That would be absolute fantastic to have CD's like that. There should be a CD player somewhere.....will have a look, but if not we will make a plan. The Tsamma Land project has been such a HUGE success and we THANK YOU mites for making it such a huge success without you it wouldn’t have been possible.

I do know that on the Kgalagadi FB page there is also plenty of information regarding the school, I will have a chat to the two ladies at the school to give us an update on the needs.

To all mites visiting the park, please remember that there is an open invitation to you all that when visiting the park you are more that welcome to come and visit the school and meet the kids, we have had a few mites coming to say hi already and the kids absolutely love to meet new people.

Thanks again for all the support.

KG

DuQues,

You are so correct in saying that the school is going to be the envy of the whole Kgalagadi District, we are starting to get queries from Welkom if their kids could also join the school. We have showed the Kids "Lion King; the other day, it was such an eye opener to see the faces and to hear the comments from the youngsters who have never seen the movie.

I spoke to the local teacher from Welkom who is also the teacher at Tsamma Land and she is absolutely over the moon with all the goodies they get for the school. Her word were that she couldn’t believe there are still people out there which cares so much for kids which is not their own and who they have never met.

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU.

I told DuQues last night that it is awesome to see how people are opening their hearts, hands and purses to people who really need it. There still are good people out there, and so many of them on the forums. :gflower:
