I must say I really like the name Tsamma Land!!
By the looks of things here on the forum, Tsamma Land is going to be well equipped I really like the suggestion from ctv4 re recycling.
Michele and I were chatting about this little school and she mentioned the idea of toilet roll inners coming from the 'housekeeping' dept in TR. They must has access to more that than can possibly be required to last a long while.
Taking that thought further , involving the staff families to collect reuseable recycling items with a small incentive as a 'prize' for the most collected could also have the dual effect of Tsamma Land benefiting as well as the environment
Who knows where this may end? Maybe next.... Nossob and Mata Mata benefits too In my head, this could be such an exciting and rewarding project for all Great one !!

Regarding the toilet rolls inners......done. The housekeeping staff has started to bring the empty roll to us for the school. The staff is doing a lot in handing their recyclable items which can be used at the school. I went to quickly say hi at the school yesterday and while walking towards the school you could hear the kids singing and they didn’t want to go back to their homes as they enjoy the school so much.

Many of the kids of staff at Mata-Mata / Nossob lives with family of friends in Twee Rivieren or Welkom and they also attend the school. The kids are making fathers-day cards and it is just so nice, will get a picture of one and post it.

This project has surely been worthwhile every effort put in, the happy faces tell it all.

Thanks again so much for all the support, you mites have no idea how much it means to the kids.

Just a question - do you need children's books and old magazines? If so, Afrikaans or English children's books.
How about old toys?

Old toys would be an absolute winner. If there are any Afrikaans kids books going around which is not in use anymore, we would be happy to take them off your hands and hand it to the school.

The kids are from age 5 to 12 inthe after school class.
