This sounds like a fantastic project
and I'm sure lots of 'mites who visit the arid parks [and lots of 'mites who don't] would want to offer continued support. Me included!

A while ago the kids had to make their own binoculars, and then we took them on a game drive where they could use them. The kids also had to write a report on what they have learned and seen.

This is really heartwarming to see the support! Well done everybody!

Can I ask what the recyclng efforts are in the park as I am sure that there will be some things which people usually throw away, that the school could utilise.

Cans, plastic bottles, newspapers, cardboard, polystyrene containers etc, obviously all washed out and clean, but it may be something to look into.

It may also be a source of income if you could get somebody to collect it and pay you for it.

We will be arriving in Upington on August 28. After doing some shopping,, we will be driving to Twee Rivieren that afternoon. If there are items to be transported, we"d be happy to help.

The recycling process in the park is in the process of being finalized. There is a local contractor which was sourced to collect and the recyclable items. Items which can be used such as bottles etc is collected and given to the school, the parents of the kids and the camp attendants are assisting with the collection of the products.

@ Timbits - From where are you leaving? I am looking for someone to take the carpets to Tsamma Land from Pretoria!

@ctv4 - we'll be coming in from Toronto, Canada via J'burg, and flying to Upington. We'll be renting a 4x4 in Upington, so we're not sure how much space we'll have.

Sorry, that doesn't help for getting anything from Pretoria.

I know that nothing will go to waste, but it would be better if we could buy diffferent things instead of lots of the same.
