Morning all,

It is absolutely an amazing feeling to see how much caring there is still going around in this world. Words can’t thank you all enough.

I will have a chat with the principal of the school; and see what we can come up with regarding to the needs and we could post it.
The date for the handing out of the Christmas presents will be the 2nd of December due to the schools closing and it would be the only day we could get all the kids in one place.

Thanks again ALL.

This is such an inspiring thread and I have been reading silently for a while now and wondering how I could contribute .....

Is there any way us 'overseas' mites can contribute in some way? I know that we normally have a give n gain fund but that it has to be a SANParks project so I guess that would be out of the question ... (would be great if I was wrong :D ) What about an education fund/bursery set up to help any of the local KTP children (from Welkom or surrounds) who may want to go into further education and then go on to work within SANParks? I am thinking while typing here so forgive me if I am sounding a little vague ..... not sure if we would get enough funds in but I know that there is a lot of good will from the overseas community and we cannot always contribute as easily as you lucky saffies :D .

Just my two pennies worth .. maybe it will start the ball rolling and someone else will come up with a brilliant and workable idea

Hi KG

After what seemed like forever we will be arriving in TR this Saturday :D :D We have lots and lots of goodies for delivery.

We have been collecting for a while and have a large load of clothing, school pencils and note books for delivery.

I'm not sure if you will be in TR if not should we leave all the stuff in your office? We are only in TR for 1 night then head up to MM for 10 days.

Regards
Iain

Good Morning all,

I have received half a load of clothing and presents last night for the kids in Welkom and are now running around for storage space as we are expecting much more to come in, management is absolute amazed by the contributions which was received from the forumites. We are now in the planning stage to when we do the next hand over (we will post plenty pics).

@icurry,

I love the way you think and as a matter of fact we are in the process of such a project which will be a park initiative, we are just working on the logistics on park level; but the initiative has been approved in principal by management. As soon as we have 100% clearance I will post it on the forum and who ever would like to get involved will be more that welcome to do so.

Will keep you posted

KG

I am reading this with tears in my eyes (but then don't mind me coz I cry for everything!! ).

I am so humbled by the caring of people for others, probably most of whom they have never met!

I also have the feeling that the kids we are giving to, are way more appreciative than our "spoilt" city dwellers would ever be, given the same gifts. To see a child's face light up when they realise that the gift is for THEM, and the almost embarrassed smile that creeps across their little faces, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
The ideas that you guys are coming up with to help the school and community on an ongoing basis is amazing

Thanks to Scouter, Caracal, Jannie, Vanessa, and ALL other mites involved, for caring! :gflower: :k

Blessings to you all.

Hello all,

Just a reminder -- the next delivery vehicle to KTP leaves in just over a week
So please let me know who needs us to take stuff up & we'll organise to get it from you.

Gavin -- I have your tent

Hi all. KG, do you have a view of what is required from a schooling perspective i.e. paper, pens, white boards, writing books?
