First tip
Don't pitch tent in a hollow in the ground, especially if the said tent is not waterproof and it looks like rain:

Ok, second tip….
Do not use bright lights…it attracts goggas …the goggas attracts spiders, geckos and frogs ….the frogs and geckos attracts snakes.
Rather use candles or something like a paraffin lantern…unfortunately does not give much light, so watch out where you step.

And the snakes attract honeybadgers. Which in turn attract leopards, and then it really gets dangerous!

Don't forget to bring firewood and two long sticks for making a fire. (And reading the above, make sure you make the fire in your neighbours braai. )

@DB and Jumbo thank you very much for the tips , despite having grown up largely in the rural areas I probably would have made that mistake on the lights. Was already planning to take one of my gas lamps with me. Just imagine the disaster.

As for you Mr DQ I can only pray for you because it's on sir and you my dear friend are going to lose big time. Are you scared enough yet?

@Scipio: no need to worry sir, except for that tent thing - all thumbs and 2 left feet you know, I probably would give you a good run for your money in the fire making department. I've been banned from making the fire in my house because they men say I'm making them look bad.

@Jumbo: This one is for the angels girl, men are only passengers in this trip.
