Hi Everyone,

Just made my second installment on our personal Rare Sightings Challenge coming up in October. I have promised to donate $60 US each month until we leave, so as of now I have donated $120 US (approx R900) through GivenGain. I hope to have dontated at least $120 US more before we leave. This is in anticipation of many amazing sightings that we are sure to have during 2 weeks in Kruger.

We thank you for your generosity. :)

I just made another donation in advance of our upcoming trip, for all of our rare and not so rare sightings. $100.00 US dollars. Through GivenGain for Kruger Anti-poaching and Rangers. The clock is ticking down, only 39 days before we board our flight for Jo'berg.

We got a great deal for our advance payments on the rare sighting challenge. I donated $220 US Dollars (approx R1600) before we traveled to Kruger in October in hopes it would give us good luck for great sightings. Boy did our advance payment pay off dividends.
We saw:
1. A Honey Badger on the S25 near Malelane Gate. (our 4th in 2 visits)
2. A LIT on the H4-1 between Lower Sabie and Nkuhlu (First Leopard in Tree for us)
3. Five Martial Eagles (A first for us!) Near Lower Sabie on the S128 and The S139 Near Biyamiti
4. A Small group of Wild Dogs (A first for us in the wild) On the S118
5. We had the unbelievable honor of seeing 6 Black Rhino on 5 separate days on the H4-2, the H5, the S26, the S114, and on the S21. We got photos and video of two, and quick glimpses of the others running with heads up and cute little lips pursed for all to see.
6. We stopped counting White Rhino when we got to 65.
7. Two Pearl-Spotted Owlets on the S139 and near the Gardenia Hide on the Miambane Loop.

Of course we saw much more than these, but these were the sightings that have us still smiling a month later. For pictures and more go to my TR at: www.sanparks.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=46807
I am still working on it, so stop by and have a look.

for your upcoming KNP trip, I'll challenge you to the following sightings:

Wild dog - tick
Aardwolf
Serval
Caracal
Pangolin

with 50 Rand each to be paid to the VHR account.

Go and find them for me - and moreover yourself!

OK! I'll go along with Lionspoon on this one  However what the wild dogs are concerned, each sighting not each doggie

Micetta, you are only paying once for each animal anyway, so a top of 250 Rand if S&D see all five of them.

Coming to think of it, somebody else is going away pretty soon as well...
Let's check the KTP sightings for another challenge...

For those I am not paying anything :naughty: It is tough enough to have to go and find them

Leopard with cub(s) and Cheetah with cub(s) could be an exception :hmz:

You don't have to pay for them, but I'll put some pressure on you to make sure,
you really find them by paying myself if you saw them (and can provide photographic evidence). 8)
