We were not too sure if this would work but wanted to donate to SANParks so came up with this as a possible way to raise funds for SANParks and particularly for the HR: Virtual Region.

I am delighted to say that after the first run we have collected R1950

Thank you

Sundowner.

Going forward, below are some suggestions to simplify the game. Your input is most welcomed

1.Have a separate list for KTP and KNP. Nothing against the other SANParks, but these two are the most visited

KNP LIST
Aardvark
Aardwolf
Caracal
Serval
Honey Badger
Pel’s Fishing Owl
Roan Antelope
Cape Clawless Otter
Wild Dogs
Leopard
Cheetah
Pangolin
Lions
Black Rhino
Sable Antelope
Saddle Billed Stock

KTP LIST
Aardvark
Aardwolf
Caracal
Brown Hyena
Honey Badger
Pygmy Falcon
Eland
Kudu
Cape Fox
Leopard
Cheetah
Pangolin
Warthog

2.Do not have any monetary value attached to a sighting of an animal on the list. Whatever you feel comfortable with. So if I am going to KNP I can say that I want to pledge R50 for 6 of the animals on the list. This will cost me R300 if I see all 6 animals I have pledged for. If Sundowner has pledged for animals on the list, like was done this time, and I see them then a donation will be made by Sundowner.

Anybody going to KNP or KTP soon. The challenge is on. Happy Hunting.

  to S&D who were the the donators of the largest share. I will be in KNP again from June 29th to 3rd July. Hopefully will have many rare sightings, and therefore a donation.

Hi S&D,

I pledge R50 for your trip in April for Wild Dog, serval or caracal.

And for any animal on the list for my trip in July.

Hello Shi,

The idea is to pledge before going on a trip and a amount you comforatble with.

So if you had pledged R100 for the HB, you would have paid R100 to the VHR account.

But I see no reason why you cannot donate an amount you are comfortable with retrospectively.

Thank You

We plan on many sightings this coming October, so in anticipation I have made my first down payment of $60.00US - at current exchange that is approximately R450.00. I plan on making an additional down payment for each of the next 3 months, so that we won't have to make one huge payment at the conclusion of our holiday. Wish us luck, more later including a trip report. I am also hoping to find some Leatherman Tools and Binoculars to bring to give to Rangers that we meet during our stay.
