Well I'll definitely buy some magazines & newspapers in Upington then, and IF I've got some spare kgs in my luggage I'll also bring books and contact Banna.

Great to see that there are motivated people who are willing to put their valuable time & energy into a good cause

I am going up on 24 January and I can easily take books or magazines up from forum members in CT and drop off in Upington or at KTP

Hi guys,
We had a meeting in January and I had this topic added as a project. We shall have our next meeting on Saturday, but I heard through the grapevine that the project is on track and any books will be gladly accepted to add to the library. I will get more detail during the next meeting, but in the meantime, PLEASE bring the books along. You can contact me via PM for my cell number and then you can give me a shout when you get to Upington and I will gladly collect the books from you and pass it on to the person handling the library. More detail to follow after the next meeting. Thanx
:D

just returned from staying at a couple of the wilderness camps and I took the opportunity of speaking to the guides at Urikaruus, KTC and Grootkolk about their preferences; Afrikaans material seems to be preferred to English (but not excluded please), they all mentioned that they would love magazines; Huisgenoot, Weg were mentioned specifically and everyone said thrillers would go down well and perhaps a couple of field books; birds and mammals - hope helpful. I am a librarian and would be very happy to help where possible.

Thanks for the offer, Jo. I will unfortunately not be able to get to you before Friday. :(
Please if there is anybody from Gauteng going to Kgalagadi in the near future…I have quite a few books to send.
Banna, thanks to you and the HR’s!
@ Tigerlily…thanks for getting the info on what they prefer! 8)
