In the good old days SANPARKS upon visitors arrival issued to all, the well known Green and Gold vehicle sticker with the Lion head on it, with on the reverse also in green and gold the basic rules being :
Stay in your vehicle.
Stay on the road.
Don't exceed the general speed limit 40km/h.
Don't feed the animals.

In both Afrikaans and English.

Together with the above another yellow and white sticker with a Steenbok emblem in the middle with on the blue with white printing "SINDELIKHEID - CLEANLINESS".

The Steenbok was obviously the symbol of cleanliness as it buries it droppings.

These stickers were displayed with pride - and also reminded you of what the rules are.

Maybe it would be a good idea if this could be re-instated , just imagine how good it would be driving through KRUGER and again seeing little/no evidence of littering or rule breaking - AND not reading about offenders on the FORUM.

Let us get a few comments and if fellow forumites regard this as a good idea or have better suggestions, let's submit a proposal. in this regard.

Please move it to wherever it may have the most effect or wherever it is most suitable.
If we are all in agreement about this , it appears to be, submit it to whoever is the correct decision maker and let us all hold thumbs.

Hi gmlsmit! The state that some of the roads were in espesially over the Christmas period was, to say the least, heart wrenching.

One thing that made me smile about your first post though was this one line:

(Please pass it on to the whole country as well , the general public is not litter conscious , it should be started by educating elsewhere .)

and portuguese for all the mozzies that use kruger as a highway to the border

No Littering!!! Whilst driving around this weekend, you won't believe how much litter i picked up close to the road in the park... Including a Wheel Hub-Cap!!!

Excellent idea, gmlsmit! I remember those decals, and it certainly generated both pride in our country and in our parks. I'd love to see them again.

i have 2 on my sliding door at home the one with the lion head and the other with the kudu head

don't know if there were any other designs besides the lion and kudu.

but would be a nice idea to have those stickers with different species on it. so it could be like a collection, for us more serious enviromentalists.
