Last year we were only in the park for 3 days but met P@m and Martie through the YR displaying. It is good to be able to put faces to the people on here and this is a good way of doing it. Keep it going please.....we will be flying ours in September.
Are we really the most intelligent species??

2009 and 2010 trips are a distant memory but will remain special.

TMNP - Got Married and had the Honeymoon blinkers on!! Too busy for TMNP!!.

What I find "shocking' is that there are people around who doesn't know what the SANParks forum is. The question usually is,
"What's up with that yellow ribbon"
"I am a member of the SANParks forum"
"The what?"
"The official website of SANParks"
"O.......bye"

It is clear that a lot of visitors are totally unaware of the existence of this wonderful site. It should be a prerequisite that all visitors must register here before accommodation is allocated to them(only joking)

We traveled to Kruger from way overseas and thankfully remembered our yellow ribbon, but I'm sure there are lots of members who have forgotten to pack theirs, both national and international visitors.
I still think the addition of yellow ribbons for sale in the park shops would be a definite plus, both for convenience and for sales.
Just checked the latest stats and....ready for this...Total members 18492
:hmz: Even at R5 would be a potential bonanza!!

Superstess, look out for us, we will be mainly in the South at the same time, and will definitely be flying my Red and yellow Ribbon.

Please don't forget to send your dates to Jazil and have them added Here
Then at least one can get some idea of who will be in the same area. :D

I read elsewhere on the forum that as the YR carrier approached a sighting with people hanging out their vehicles the perpetrators sheepishly withdrew back into their cars -
If there were more YR visible will that assist in keeping perpetrators on their toes (for a while) ?
KNP is sacred. I am opposed to the modernisation of Kruger and from the depths of my soul long for the Kruger of yesteryear! 1000+km on foot in KNP incl 56 wild trails.200+ nights in the wildernessndloti-indigenous name for serval.

We were in the KNP fom 18 to 23 April and saw several yellow ribbons. At a lion sighting near Croc Bridge a lady in another car asked me about the yellow ribons as they had seen a number of cars with yellow ribbons and wondered if they were missing out on something. I told her she was indeed missing out and explained about the forum. We also saw a car with several yellow ribbons attached to the door handles at Tshokwane.
I have also noticed that a few OSVs and others have changed their rule breaking behavior after seeing our yellow ribbon. Actually happened while we were there last week. A OSV rapidly reversed back onto the tar when the giude noticed our yellow ribbon.

I'm so glad that ppl are afraid of our YR and respecting it. That is way i thought that we must make more ppl aware of it and show our YR. We as mites must try to make as many ppl aware of it and what they are missing out on.
Keep them YR's flying

I have asked this question previously  Can I buy my YR at any place of my choice, the only requirement that it be yellow?

I find the florist type ribbon makes a bit of noise when the car is moving so I bought some of the brightest yellow material and made one myself.

One tend to miss a small yellow ribbon tied around a door handle or mirror, especially in the rain.
Mine is done in bowtie style and right on top attached to the car antenna.
Its on top not inside

My Yellow ribbon is the frill from a dress :D The most awful gaudy dress I saw in a charity shop! It has a silver thread running trough it and stayed tied on the mirror all the time we were in KNP
KUDU's mean Well done and Thank you
