Anticipation!

Unread postby tweetiepie » Fri Oct 25, 2013 7:44 am

We'll be making our first visit to the Kruger in a couple of weeks and the anticipation is growing each day. What are the conditions at the moment! Especially concerning the bird life. In the park. I hear it has been very wet recently, are all roads open?

Welcome to the forums tweetiepie!

Do not forget your Yellow Ribbon!

We are also heading to the park in about 10 days. We expect to see a good number of birds, and enjoy good birding. Also, depending how long you will be staying, the impala will start dropping their babies in Nov, which is very special.

I believe Kruger has had rain this week, so thing should be starting to turn green, particularly after the good rain last summer.

Enjoy your time in the Park, may it be the first of many trips!

We will be there soon as well (mid Nov). First to Marakele in a week's time, then Mapangubwe and then Kruger entering in the North and working southwards, leaving 20th Dec.
Erica is making our yellow ribbon right now - hope to meet up with some of the forumites along the way.

Hi Peter, we met at a buffalo herd crossing the road south of Shingwedzi last year in November. Glad you're organising a yellow ribbon for this trip.

Enjoy.

Thanks so much for your warm replies. This will be our fourth birding trip to SA and if the last three trips are anything to go by then I know we're in for a terrific time.

I can hardly wait
