its one of the gazillion species of Weevil. Not the weevils that people scream about in their flour.... but true weevils.
real cute duffers who love to "play dead" when disturbed, but give themselves away when they feel a stick or finger near their legs at which point they "play dead, but hanging on with everything"

Thanks, Helps to know now that it was in fact also a Weevil. I googled a bit and came across a Weevil with similar body, but head was different and shorter.

if you look in wikipedia it gives some info. there are roughly 60 000 species so they sure will come in all shapes and sizes. i have seen some pretty big ones. also so small ones that you can barely ID them as weevils.
enjoy!

Weevils are such interesting insects! but almost impossible to pin them for insect collections  you need to hammer the pin in!
