You need to supply your own.

Its much more enjoyable to do your own.
Do your eggs, sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms toast ..... mmmmmm ...
The staff will clean the skottel for you afterwards.
Just remember to take margarine and matches.
They will also supply you with boiling water for your coffee/tea.
Nkhulu is just the best to have breakfast at.
Nothing better than overlooking the river and chilling.

A skottle brekkie at any picnic area is great.. we take large hamburger buns and put our "brekkie" onto the buns straight from the skottle, saves taking lots of crockery and cutlery. However you may have to cut back on the amount ingredients depending on the size of the bun.... BUT easy to prepare and easy to eat
Have a great day everyone :)

Out of interest, (this might deserve its own thread), a couple of months ago I purchased a teflon skottel liner at PnP Hypermarket in Norwood.
Its made by Metalix, a South African company.
They're much easier to clean than a skottel, and you don't need any oil to cook with.
So far they've proved to be great items, and I've bought a few for friends and family and have had very good reviews.

Apologies if this question has been asked recently.
We will be visiting Kruger Park the week after Easter weekend and I would like to know if it is possible to take our own gas braai to use at the picnic spots?

As this will be a very busy time in the Kruger, I presume the picnic spots will be very crowded and taking our own gas braai might be useful?

While staying at satara I visited Tsokwane, Nwanetsi, Timabavati and Muzandzeni picnic spots.
I can happily report that everything was ideal at the picnic spots :D
Every spot had an attendent, gas, gas braais, spotless clean in terms of litter

Here are some pics of Muzandzeni

Here is the attendent doing his job with a smile and having a chat wit me!

He said before I got there he saw a leopard  Pointed in the direction it walked off into the bush. Nice guy :D

This really is a magic spot in Kruger

On page 3 (the last post) DavidM wrote in 2008 “Evening all Tshokwane & Nkuhlu will indeed be offering the coals as in days gone by. In fact we have found the old spades with longer handles somewhere in a storeroom. Unfortunately the service cannot be free, but the principle is that you buy a bag of wood (R15) and in return you get as much coal as you need. There will always be a fire going with enough coal for the day. We have placed orders for the stands and grids and these will probably be installed by early August. As I have stated elsewhere before, gas skottels will still be available (also R15) Hope to see you all there ”

Does anyone know whether the above was ever implemented?

Speaking of Satara, we are going there in July for 4 days.

There is a lot of picnic spots and I would like to know which 2
picnic spots is the best near Satara?

I have never been to a picnic spot near Satara, I did stop at Tsokwane
once it was very beautifull.

Any advise??

Rooster , the smaller and most tranquill picnic spot near to Satara is Munzandzeni , pictured above .
Hlangulene (about half way up the S36) is another good one .

The other two (Nwanetzi & Timbavati) are likely to be rather busy in season and weekends .

I can also recommend Muzandzeni - it is lovely and quiet there.
N´wanetsi can be busy but the view up there is nice and the nearby Sweni hide is also very nice and quiet.
And if Tshokwane is an option why not visit Orpen Dam next time? It is not much further than Tshkowane but much more quiet and peaceful with a nice view as well.
