So I left fro Lower Sabie on Sunday and Drove Home on Monday. (home is Centurion)

I went in at Malelane and left from Orpen.

We left from home at 02:00 and where in the park by 07:00.

and the next day we left the park at 14:30 on Monday. Back home by 19:00.

I will post photos and a decryption of the trip later today.

I think it was very worth while. What do you guys think?

irenehawk, I find that any time spent in Kruger is worth while, even if it's for a short time, ideally a few more days would have been great, but one day is better than nothing

Half a day in Kruger is worth while in my opinion.

We did a similar thing 2 years or so ago and it was more than worth while. Can't wait to hear about the trip and see some :cam:

Welcome to the forums irenehawk

I agree with the posts above - anytime, no matter how short is good in the park.
We once went in at Punda at 13h00 overnighted at Shingwedzi and left through Punda at 13h00 the next day. It was great, had the most unexpected Cheetah sighting ever :D

I bet you had some awesome sightings

Stunning sky near Lower Sabie

When you get a Krugerparking itchImage, you have to scratch it :D

I once got a Kruger itch at 11 on a Friday night, woke SO up and told her we were going Krugerparking right NOW, , packed an overnight bag, jumped in the car, drove the 730 km to Paul Kruger gate, made a booking for that night on arrival at the gate, spend the day and the night there, scratched the itch, felt much betterImage and drove 730 km back home on Sunday.
Glad I have now moved 300 km closer to the gate :D

1 Night stay is totally worth it!! I feel totally relaxed from this past week end, thank you Irenehawk for suggesting it!!

This photo looks close to HDR but is not. Simply put the fish eye out of the window and lifted the arm after changing settings a few times this beauty is what we got. The light mist towards the sunrise gave this awesome effect to the grass.

(Irenehawk is my husband for everyone reading this)

We saw a pride of very close lions (beady eyeing our tires, LOTS of bird life and a Black Rhino with her little one)

One of the first things my wife noticed was the thousands of golden orb spiders every where. This stayed the same all the way from Malalane to Orpen.

Next we headed for berg en dal to get fuel. on the way there we took 10min to enjoy this yellow billed hornbill.

Irenehawk some of those spider webs are HUGE that we have seen in the Kruger. Such a tiny spider but where do they get all that thread or spider silk from to spin those huge webs in a perfect pattern :hmz: anyway nice :cam: of the spiders :D
