On our new reservation form on the last page it says Skukuza restaurant will be closed from the 29th of July for renovations.

Has anybody been to the Wimpy at Pretoriuskop as yet??? We are leaving in two weeks (yeah!!!!   ) and staying at Pretoriuskop. Would like to know if they are up and running and what the menu and service is like.

AKSmit, we've been there two weeks ago and yes, they are up and running now. Regarding menu and service, you can expect the same as with any other Wimpy in any other place. So in general, no fine dining experience but the food is decent (and decently priced) and you get it quickly - nothing to complain about and leaving sentiment aside, IMHO a vast improvement on what we had before.

Thank you very much Obelix. With two small kiddies in tow, we don't have much of a fine dining experience anyways, so the Wimpy will be perfect! :D

I think you will be pleasantly surprised AKSmit - we were there a few weeks ago & I definitely was. I do NOT frequent Wimpy in general but I think you & especially your kids will love it. I had fruit salad with yoghurt which is something I have tried to have EVERYWHERE in Kruger and use it as a test of the quality of the restaurants in general - It was one of the best I have ever had. The restaurant was clean and the service was good

Thank you suebfly, I'm glad to hear about the positive change all round. Must say, I was one of the skeptical ones... We are even going to drive through to Lower Sabie to go and experience the buzz of the Mugg & Bean for ourselves.

Soooo looking forward to "go back home..."

Please would someone patiently :) post which camps have which new restaurants.
I have gone back quite a few pages and see that Mugg & Bean are in Satara and Letaba. Who is in Olifants and Berg-en-Dal. Also which camps have a Debonairs.
Are all the picnic sites still run the same as when we were there 3 years ago?

Thank you for saving me having to go back through 190 posts …… I appreciate it.

Popped into Satara and waited sitting on a bench by the fence while my wife went and fetched something at the M&B. She pitched up with some or other roll that they called a Bap with lettuce and not much else. Not crazy about it. A lot of people seemed to be having a lot of fun there. It is nice to get that nice familiar feeling like being in the food court at Sandton City. Except everyone is wearing safari shorts and carrying cameras.

Safarigal, M & B are at Lower Sabie, Satara, Letaba and Olifants.
As far as I know the only Debonairs is at Satara as well.
Wimpy is at Pretoriuskop and B & D have the same franchise as the one at Mopani.
Skukuza will close at the end of this month and start the construction and refurbishment for a Cattle Baron.
Hope this helps.
