Crocodile Bridge shop - No more Breakfasts/Hamburgers etc

Unread postby porcubine » Sat Jun 08, 2013 6:12 pm

Hi - wonder what is happening to Kruger park - went to the park today and as we have little kiddies we like to go for a short srive and back to the shop for a breakfast as a treat for the family. We were informed today that they are not going to serve any other food but toasted sandwiches.............is this true. So sad as we live close by and not having much other entertainment we oftern take the family there for a hamburger or waffles - and their breakfast is a real treat as a housewife who has had a busy weak and need to just get someone else make her a meal. Can someone please shed light on this. To add to this - we often caravan with the little ones at Crocodile and have a meal there to share the burden.

If you mean Croc bridge rest camp. On our recent stay they only have a shop and a take out menu. No restaurant.

Yes I am talking about the little shop/take away shop at Crocodile Bridge. Their breakfast was one of the best in the park - such a shame. :(

Yes the breakfasts there were so good, it's a pity if they've stopped serving them

Crocodile Bridge -NO MORE BREAKFASTS/HAMBURGERS ETC

Unread postby porcubine » Thu Jun 20, 2013 7:44 am

Just been to Crocodile bridge shop and had breakfast and was told that this is the last day we can order this and other dishes like hamburgers - except toasted sandwiches.
Oh no................Please will you all write and oppose this - this is one camp shop that serves a very very good breakfast and hamburger........can anyone answer this question.....why.
in this day and age we need to create jobs and what is going to happen to the staff that controlled the kitchen - don't understand............what a shame  :rtm:

This is not good news, we stayed last New Year and had an afternoon burger instead of cooking supper. We are staying again in December and were planning the same.
Can someone find out why the change? Have they exceeded their mandate for food? Croc Bridge was one of our favourite spots for a quick snack/meal.

Dear Forum members

The management of Crocodile Bridge shop has decided that as from mid July they will no longer offer full breakfast but instead coffee and toasted sandwiches will be offered.
The Crocodile Bridge shop is not supposed to be having a kitchen.
It was initially established to sell groceries and curio products.
It has discovered during the Occupation Health and Safety evaluation tour that the kitchen is not in line with services that the shop should be rendering to the customers.

Since the shops are not under SANParks Management we have forwarded your suggestions to the relevant management concerned for their consideration. We hope that they will look at ways to apply for the relevant license to have the kitchen back in operation.
Regards

Sorry StephensL thank you for your answer, do hope that the CB shops kitchen can be brought up to standard as it is a pity that such lovely food cannot be served anymore , very frustrating :gflower:

Thanks for the response - can't we do something more - like a stike - ha ha just joking.

Hope they will reconsider applying for the needed license to run a kitchen.
