I think the tree idea is great... You can put me up for one when I fall over one day.

My Grandfather always believed that if a pet dies you plant a tree on their grave. I have continued the tradition in my house aswell.

How about a 'wall of remembrance' at certain camps and maybe picnic spots, where, for a fee, one could attach a plaque in memory of expired loved ones.

The wall could be an existing one, like the shop, ablution block or whatever.

My dad haunts people near Skukuza, where my brother 'let him out'.

Now thats one way of putting it. The only person allowed to be outside the car......As long as he doesn't scar the animals.

Thank you for all the caring words :( and if we could get the Plaque back and put it where it is allowed would be really great. I love the idea of the tree stump at designated places and it would make it easier knowing where one can place a plaque without it been removed. :gflower:

There are many people that have wished and have had their ashes strewn somewhere in the Kruger at a special place that they loved. (my own special place has been instructed to my children)

I do support a place in each camp where we could place a small plaque for our loved ones that loved the Park.

I personally make a point of looking and reading the plaques on the memorial benches that are in the camps.
For me it a great privilege and an honour to be in the same place as my past fellow Krugerparkers. What did they know about Kruger that I am still trying to learn?
May they all Rest In Peace. I will join them one day for a big braai at the next place :D

My problem is, and I know there are others that feel the same, is that we all want to see an 'unspoilt' wilderness, without any human interference whatsoever. The same would be like sitting at a waterhole on a quiet afternoon, waiting for the animals to come and drink. Then suddenly a group of cyclist make their appearance, pedaling through the bush. The whole atmosphere will be ruined.
