Hi Duncang :D

I keep record of my sightings when I go to Kruger, and my record day regarding Elephants had 34 sightings :D It was June 2011 from Shingwedzi  However, that being said, the Mopani region has been the most regular producer of multiple elephant sightings! So many elephant sightings that after a while you just drive on past them  Mopani is not my favorite camp in the Park, due to the monotonous sight of endless Mopani trees  However the Mooiplaas and Tropic of Capricorn roads around Mopani are like the serengeti of Kruger :D Well worth a drive if you end up staying at Letaba 8)

In November I sat in the restaurant at Letaba and watched 7 bull elephants in the reed beds.

Days before I'd been sitting at Babalala watching 9 bulls defend the concrete reservoir from the maintenance people trying to fix it.

And then later the same trip I sat on my stoep in Satara while 3 bulls decided to show a dead tree who was boss.

Don't think I can beat Cheetah2111's 34 but on a drive from Satara to Orpen and back along the H7 (with a detour to Girivana on the way back) we had 7 bulls, one family of 12 and another family of 9.

Yes! When Wendy, Heksie and I were staying at Maroela in Nov/Dec, we had multiple elephant herd crossing in a drive :D And meeting up with ADW at Tsoks, he told me he had observed more elephants than ever before in the Satara region 8) And he is Mr Satara expert 8)

I don't think you can go wrong at Letaba duncang

Thanks all, had a great stay. Ticked off the big 5 ! Ellies by the bucket load . A leopard outside Letaba that wanted to just walk down the road……. 75 metres in front of us just after 6am. Pregnant lioness on our way out near Phabeni.

Another thing we learnt was how to move a pile of leaves outside our bungalow no 70. It was swept 4 times until the dust made me chase the leaf pusher away as our meals were being made. Sadly things are not as pristine as previous yet there are twice as many staff ?
