Ya I agree with redlomo  go to www.sanparks.org then Kruger National parks, so then you can check out the camps and see what is available and then book online :D

Hi Tim - August is private schools' holidays, so the Park might be pretty fully-booked. I suggest you book what you see is available now and then keep checking and amend the booking when you see other camps come up. Remember one month before the dates you want, final payments are due and people often don't pay then and the accommodation becomes available. I know that is too late for booking flights, but might help you to "trim" your booking.

Good luck.

Tim Welcome to the Forum...just remember, when you book online as suggested above you have to pay the full amount upfront....I would suggest you look to see whats available and make a booking online (for 2 or 3 nights), pay for it and then login to your booking and you can make changes etc as you please...!!! They do not charge you to make changes so far in advance..only 1 month in advance stop making changes, and the changes you make can be paid as per your updated booking :D :D

It is also cheaper to book online and pay upfront.

Link to Availability

Also, have a look a month before your planned trip (don't leave booking that late!) to see if your preferred accommodation options become available and you can change the booking. If clients do not pay their full deposit on due date (one month before their visit) the booking is cancelled, and thus accommodation options become available again.

Hi,

I am new to this forum and have a question regarding bookings:

I would like to make a booking for a wilderness trail, and I am not opposed to doing it through the online booking system. However, I would like clarification regarding refunds the refunds policy, because my travel plans are not absolutely finalized.

If I were to cancel a booking with more than 30 days advance notice, would I get a full refund? I see rules spelled out for 30-15 days before reservation, etc., so am I correct in assuming a full refund if cancelled with more than 30 days advance notice?

Thanks in advance for your input!

Hi cgo111 and a warm welcome to the forum!

I would read it as more than 30 days = full refund as well.

Am I wasting my time checking regularly throughout the day to see if there are any changes to accommodation availability?

Is all accommodation data only updated once daily, after midnight?

Can't seem to find this info published anywhere.

Thanks.

Found this on the Availability page

Please Note:
Availability information is updated real-time (unless interrupted by technical difficulties) between our reservation system and this website. As reservations are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis, we cannot guarantee that accommodation you see as available now will still be available when you make a reservation.

Just yesterday I moved one of my bookings to a later date and when I checked, noticed that it had changed accordingly on the availability.

Hope that helps

Thank you - it's really reassuring to have this confirmed by your actual experience and know that I'm not wasting my time.

Trying to wake up early here on GMT time in order to beat early online bookers in RSA would be a challenge! So it's good to know that I stand as much chance by doing random checks during the day.

Baie Dankie!

When I have booked accommodation I have seen it's gone off the site immediately. When the final payments are due a month before plenty of accommodation seems to come available.

Also don't forget now with the new 2013 reservations the final balance now has to be paid 60 days prior to arrival so unpaid reservations will become available sooner . :hmz:

Can you please tell me how do I change an existing reservation to a different type in the same camp for the same dates?
(for an example BD2U unit to BD2V in Olifants Rest Camp)
And how do I know which bungalow I will get? For an instance all BD2U bungalows have number below it in red brackets representing 3,2,1
Thank you very much.

Hi EE

Are you looking on the monthly availability page? Those numbers in red are the numbers of units still available.

Are you registered with online bookings? You can try and amend it online, or you can email reservations with the change. How long before you arrive in the park?
