Strange, when I looked at this thread about an hour ago, I saw all the pics, now gone.

Hilda, so sad indeed... :cry:

But that's Nature. The amazing thunder and lightning storm hit the Northern region with some force... We witnessed it from the Shingwedzi bridge on 01/01/2013. To be greeted by the dead elephant on 02/01/2013 came as a huge shock! There were no vultures at the carcass yet, although the skies were filled with them... Animals came down to drink, without taking much notice at first. However, once the feast began, animal activity decreased dramatically. A sad feeling of loss hung over the area... Tragic but also fascinating.

great to have you back :lol: Indeed a sad but fascinating sighting and thanks for the many pictures although I prefer to see him still alive but that is Nature which can be cruel sometimes :?
