Here at Satara now on day 13 and another 12 days to go...never bored ...feels like heaven on earth.
Up every day at 4.30am and sightings every day.
5 x leopard sightings
7 x Lion sightings
1 python sighting
2 x Cheetah sightings
1x wild dog sighting
1 x Civet sighting

Lots of birds especially raptors...lovely buff herds...Ellies,Rhino,Hippo and my gosh the beauty of Kruger...green and so gorgeous!

We have been so very lucky...rightplace a the right time.
Within 1 minute of entering Malalane Gate a leopard sighting close to the road
Crocodile Bridge.... lions and cubs in trees
leopard stalking Impala
5 cheetahs to ourselves on the road for at least 30 minutes
lioness and cub on the road... also no one else 30+ minutes
Got lots of pics so will attempt a first trip report...gosh we are blessed...gotta get some sleep now up at 4am!!

After that quick summary, you have to give us a TR, it's only fair!

Longest I have been in the Kruger is 4 days but in 5 nights I will be there for 6 days

WOW, Our longest has been 18 nights... It was an amazing trip!

We will be staying in the park for 16 nights and just outside for 2 nights later on this month.
Excited is an understatement!!!

One day when I'm a retired Ballie, I hope to spend a few months.
Better start saving now!

Back home on 10th December

Our upcoming trip 20th December will be our longest (15 days).

I will also be our first camping experience. We will staying in Satara and Lower Sabie and i dont think it will be nearly enough time, but we will be making the most of it.

I just came back from my 17 day trip!

Was unbelievable! I can't believe it's over.

I already wish I was back.

18 days, normally go for 10 days twice a year.

How many more days do you recommend next time

We have managed 15 days, and it was numbing driving out and forcing the car back to OR Tambo airport. Next trip will be 18 days with every moment of our holiday at KNP (apart from the drive in and out). Somewhere around the 6 day mark it ceases to become chasing the days, but much more timeless; as others have indicated.
We are very lucky to have covered most seasons, and honed our tracking and route choosing skills ... and spoken in depth with very knowledgable rangers and staff.

Anyways, enough of that, where's your trip report?

hehe, next time I would definitely recommend 365 days.
But it was an awesome experience!

Ill definitely start a TR soon. But more of the photos.

what a super good idea... 365 days and a TR

Just before moving to the UK we spent 28 days there in Nov/Dec 2003. Started with the Metsi Metsi trail and then went up North and camped all the way down to the South. Was one of the best experiences ever. These days alas I can only go for about a week at a time but still try go every year.
