They can use the photos of the elephant toppling the car over last week.
That will get their attention.

Even better - a photo shows how it can really happen!! Great plan! :clap:

I dont understand something about this elephant vs car issue. In the first photos with the car on its wheels, it is cleary a white chevy spark. Once the car is on its roof and the pics showing the hole in the door, it has mysteriously changed into a white hyundai atos....... Can anyone explain that?

The Chevvy was the first victim, and the Atos, the second, so 2 cars attacked. :wink:

There were actually 2 different cars involved in the incident, same Ellie.
The Atos was the one that got pushed over.

The first car drove a few hundred meters before the second one. It was only a minute or two between the two accidents.

@mike_wildearth

Exactly! :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap:

I really believe that it would have a positive impact. Imagine you are a visitor on a first time 'safari'. You have no real idea how to 'behave' around elephants. They give you this print out at the gate (not folded up - open, so you see its' contents straight away). Whoa! You straight away are feeling a bit nervous and cautious about approaching elephants - GOOD!!!! That is how it should be :)

Or.......you are a bit of a gung-ho repeat park visitor. Think you have the whole ellie thing sorted...then suddenly one visit you are presented with the DANGER! Elephants! brochure for the first time. Maybe, just maybe, you have a little re-think about your attitude to approaching and driving near ellies!
I really think its worth a try. Maybe the VHRs could help fund a trial run of this? See what the reaction is? :hmz: I'm in.

I agree, anything that can be done to help visitors understand the dangers would be great!
but now just to get them implemented! :?

No, they did not shoot him or in fact find anything wrong as far as I know!
Think he just wandered off back into the bush!
