Hi Adrian
Reading this topic brought tears to my eyes, I'm truly sorry for your loss and I'm glad you did have a great trip at the end of the day,
I will tell you this both my mothers parents were cremated and their ashes scattered in the Kruger, my gran in lower Sabie and grandpa in Skukuza.
My family did it because the Kruger was their happiest place on earth and for a while it was difficult for my mom to go into the Kruger without them by her side, with their usual antics in the car but over time its gotten better and the best way how, was remembering them by certain animals they adored in the park.
My grandpa was crazy for a kudu and a starling and my gran the cheetah and a hippy hop as she called them ( all hornbills), we started to buy sweets to eat in the car that my gran always bought and my grandfathers biltong and its those things that make us feel that they are still with us always!
I hope you had great sightings I'm looking forward to reading your TR
