Hi :hello:

How are you. That iternary looks great from what I heard, although I have never stayed at any of the camps. I have visited Punda on more ocasions than any other, the only other place I have visited more is my house. Punda is a beautiful small camp, which is perfect because there are not as many cars around as you will encounter in the South.

The Hides are perfect and I have stayed at both places which include Sable and Shipandani. Facilities wise, I found Sable better and I had the satisfaction of my car being safe over the night. In Shipandani, your car will be outside the safety area and therefore you need to be very careful if you forgot something in the car especially after we heard a lion roar, although did not see any. It was a great experiance with Hippos keeping us awake all night with the grunts.

Sable was something I will never forget as I call that night, THE NIGHT WITH THE LIONS. The Lions were just next to the hide all night with cubs, and the male was massive, than we were off to sleep, than at 3am the Lion decided to wake us up by roaring soo loud, he put shivers in us, but it is a great experiance and I would not want to change those nights for the world.

Hi there,

Sounds like a great trip in prospect. The one night camping's may be OK, depending on what type of equipment (how fast to unpack, and setup tents etc), but the checking in/out thing will bug you (not sure it applies to camping ?) .

Two suggestions ;

Perhaps the last night camping at lower sabie, instead of Melalane again. The LOWER sabie area of the park can be special :D and it's 2.5 - 3hours hours lower sabie - Melalane morning game drive and then out that day ...

Maybe change one night of camping to a night in 2 bed hut. No unpacking and camp setup leaves more energy for other things :redface: :lol: :k :redface:

Neil.
