I am sooooo excited.

My first ever trip was in May and I just want to warn my fellow meanderers to take lots of warm clothes for the early morning and sundowner trips. It can be utterly freezing if you are not adequately dressed.

I will be taking, in addition to a warm jacket, jersey.. gloves, beanie, scarf, woolen cap, second pair of socks. Rather take lots of layers off than need to be thawed out on arrival.

Yip, only a few more sleeps...... :D

I have e-mailed Duncan, but we are wondering if we
should rather give him a call?

@ Mellory : Good idea, but we will be past Nelspruit on the 15th before 07H00,
please pm if you or any of the other mites have any suggestions.

Thanks for the warning MM, we don't want any frozen mice around

Hope my feather duvet & sleeping bag & another blanket will be enough to stay warm at night! Any suggestions of what else to take?

This is so exciting, it sounds like we are in for an amazing time!

Click click, I am so happy to see your name on the list 8)

Click click it sounds good and warm and comfy. I never found the actual sleeping too bad. It was more riding in the open vehicle in the early morning. There can be a fairly long drive and we would usually leave before sunset, the coldest time of the day.

One year one of the participants had such severe blisters that she could hardly walk. I felt very sorry for her. Make sure that your shoes are well worn in. Another thing is lip-ice.

Gentle reminder.. Amarula for the chef

Thank you for the amarula reminder there Wendy   and yes early start can be really cold but bear in mind that you must be able to "strip" as the day warms up on the walk. HR's currently at camp say the days are really nice and hot at the moment.
