This seriously torture.

We've driven the S100 as first drive of the day, late morning, midday and also last drive of the day. And at never more that 20km/h, second gear stutterring along. Cats around Satara we've seen plenty of, but not even as much as a tail in the grass on the S100. The best thing seen on the S100 was a Kori Bustard drinking water at Shibotwana and a Saddle-billed Stork. Some amazing cats on the S41, but then that's not the S100.

Would also be good to see the wild dogs that are known to roam the same area.

The clock keeps ticking.

You are going in the wrong direction for the doggies Riaanf31, they are (often) on the H7 nearer to Orpen.

When we are in Satara we always drive S100 several times. And we have had many beautifull sightings, many many many lions, with and without cubs, on a kill, sleeping, walking on the road, whatever. We also have had many leopards on the S100, in a tree, on the ground. Last visit, march this year also 3 cheetahs on 2 following days.
But........... we drove S100 many many times just for ellies, impalas, wildebeast, girafs and so on without seeing any cat...... But cats are really around the S100.
Keep on driving the S100

Ruud

The S100 is the most cat-less of all the roads around Satara for me

S100 has been good to us. Mother and cub alone in the road, middle of the day - no cars for 10 minutes! Begining of May lions 4 times on S100, early, during the day and late. Unfortunately never any leopards up there - there Lower Sabie has been very good to us. Satara is Lion Country - during our 4 days in May we saw lions 12 time in that area

Hi,

We went on a Sunset Drive on the 24th May on the S100 and saw quite a lot, we saw 2 Civet, Lesser-spotted Genet, mating pair of Lion, Hyena, Giant Eagle Owl, Saddle-billed Storks sleeping in a tree, Baboons and the Grey Ones (I'm guessing you will all know what they are) :D :D

Hi,

We went from Satara. The guides name was a really long one so I can't really remember. But he said we could call him "Mas" for short.
